Joe focuses on national business development and strategic partnerships for Summit Trail Advisors. Prior to the launch of Summit Trail, Joe was a Director with Barclays Capital and a member of its largest money management team in the U.S. He came to Barclays as part of their acquisition of Lehman Brothers, where he was a Senior Vice President. Joe began his career in financial services in 2001 with Sanford Bernstein, where he helped institute their Family Office Practice and became the youngest Principal (along with Jim Cantelupe) in the firm’s history.
Before becoming an advisor in the financial world, Joe was co-founder and CEO of software service company JobPlex, which he sold in early 2001, and had been Senior Vice President of Operations for a $300mm business services firm, EPS Solutions.
Joe is a Senior Adviser to the Pat Tillman Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center (1871), The Big Shoulders Fund, Lurie’s Children’s Hospital and several privately held companies including Mac & Mia (Founding Board Member), ADMCi and Schlep.
